How to extract and view an Ebook

An Ebook is an Electronic Book that can be viewed on your computer screen or printed out.

There are many advantages of Ebooks over physical books...

1) You can instantly download an ebook to your computer and read it immediately - there's no need to wait for the book to be delivered & no need to pay for delivery.

2) As you read the ebook on your computer you can click on links within the book and be taken to web pages with more information

3) You can quickly and easily search for a specific word or group of words

4) It is environmentally friendly - no trees are used to create an ebook!

PDF stands for "Portable Document Format" and is in a format that can be viewed on any computer, as long as that computer has a PDF reader installed (e.g. Acrobat Reader).

If you don't have a PDF reader, the good news is that you can quickly and easily download one for free. Just visit Adobe Reader and follow the instructions.

Sometimes when you download an ebook it will be packaged in a ZIP file. This is used for various reasons - firstly it makes the file smaller so that it will download quicker and secondly if there are multiple files to download you only need to download one file.

Again, if you don't already have Winzip or a similar program installed on your computer you can download the free version of Winzip here. Once you've installed Winzip, all you need to do once you have downloaded the file is double click on it then press the "Extract" button to extract all the files on to your PC's hard drive.
